Class of 2021

Clifford Agcaoili

Two words come to mind when I think of Leadership. Inspiration and Aspiration. Leadership is being able to inspire others to aspire to be the best that they can be. Being a leader is not built overnight, leaders are continuously trying to improve themselves by being consistent on their work ethics and putting themselves on the forefront. I am involved as the Class of 2021 Vice President as well as the Worthy Keeper of Finance for Phi Delta Chi Fraternity. As the Vice President, I am a supporting role towards the President as well as toward the other officers. As the Worthy Keeper of Finance or Treasurer, I am responsible of keeping track to any monetary expenses and funding for the fraternity. I am an active member of Tobacco Prevention Project and Generation Rx where I present to young students about the harmful effects of electronic smoking devices and the misuse and abuse of prescription medications respectively. I believe that education is key towards making a change to future generations and that is why I am passionate in community health awareness programs.

Henry is driven by the desire to be the difference in his patients’ lives. During his time at DKICP, he hopes to gain meaningful experiences that will enhance his ability to help his patients as well as mentor the generations of pharmacy students that follow. Henry currently works toward his goal by holding various leadership roles such as President of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity (KY), Lead On-Site Chair of the Pacific Islander Mobile Screening Clinic (PIMSC), DKICP Student Ambassador and Health Screening Coordinator for the DKICP Health Fair. Henry is a strong advocate for involvement on campus and believes that the path to leadership begins with a step out of one’s comfort zone.

Some of her previous positions include Relay for Life Team Captain, NCPA Community Service Co-Chair, APhA GenerationRx Chair and Operation OTC Chair, and Health Fair Entertainment Co-Chair. Brittany has also served as the College of Pharmacy Senator and RISO Funding Chair for the University of Hawaii at Hilo Student Association (UHHSA), where her efforts helped DKICP receive over $3000 to fund new Apple desktop computers, charging stations, office chairs, and many more items. She currently serves as Kappa Psi Pledge Chair and Community Service Co-Chair, NCPA Vice President, and HSSHP Professional Development Co-Chair. Due to her dedication to leadership, Brittany strives to improve her skills to become an effective leader and hopes that her actions will inspire students at DKICP to do the same.

Domingo, Sean.jpg

Sean Domingo

Sean believes leadership is best defined by Donald H. McGannon who said, “leadership is an action, not a position”. He came to DKICP with no leadership experience, but through the guidance of his mentors and friends, he acquired the skills he needed to make a difference in his community. As a member of Phi Lambda Sigma, his goal is to inspire and help others just as his predecessors did for him. Sean’s first leadership role was as the DKICP’s 2018 Relay for Life Team Captain. He is currently serving as the Historian on the Class of 2021 Student Council, the Historian and Webmaster for Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc., the Secretary of the National Community Pharmacy Association (NCPA) Hawaii Student Chapter, and the Overall Chair for the DKICP 11th Annual Health Fair.

During the 2019-2020 academic school year, she will serve as the President of APhA-ASP. Karen believes that leadership is about building positive relationships and bringing encouragement to others. She hopes to motivate her peers to “dream more, learn more, [and] do more” on their journey to becoming the future leaders in pharmacy.

Lovesy, Noelle.jpg

Noelle Lovesy

Noelle believes that leadership all begins with breaking outside of your comfort zone. True leadership entails empathetic listening skills, attention to fine detail, standing up for what's right as well as taking a stand when something is wrong, always trying to be better and do more, owning your mistakes and errors, and then inspiring all of these attributes in others. Noelle is the current National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Student Chapter President, as well as the Secretary and Community Service Committee Co-Chair for the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. With these positions, Noelle hopes to inspire other students pharmacists to get involved in the community and to not be afraid to try new things.

Okamoto, Kimo.jpg

Kimo Okamoto

Kimo believes that leadership is exemplifying excellence to those around, to ensure that those who may see will also hold the same values and ideas. Kimo strongly feels that being a leader is not about gaining recognition, but rather to serve your fellow colleagues. He wants to ensure that DKICP will have student leaders that excel in professionalism and competency to pave the way for the future of the college.

Kimo served as the prelate and currently serves as Vice President for Phi Delta Chi professional pharmacy fraternity. He currently serves as the Delegate for the DKICP class of 2021 and serves as the A.L.O.H.A project research coordinator. Kimo's envision of leadership at DKICP is one that is filled with future student pharmacists that are exemplified nationally.
