Chee, Leila.jpeg

Leila Chee

Leila believes leadership is about inspiring others to go above and beyond what is expected. Leading does not come with an instructional handbook. It requires compassion, sincerity and dedication. It is about being able to see the value and potential in each individual and then further helping them to blossom. Leadership is finding success in the growth of others. Her mindset stems from Jim Rohn’s quote, “a good objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better.” Through Phi Lambda Sigma, she hopes to be the help students need to become confident healthcare providers and the future leaders of tomorrow. Leila currently serves as the Historian for the Class of 2024 at the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy. Her main focus is to maintain the connection between students and faculty by creating and promoting events alongside the class council.

Bell, Carly (1).jpg

Carly Bell

Carly believes that leadership is taking the initiative to develop skills in discipline, willingness to learn, and being a good follower.  Discipline is needed for decision-making and to acquire respect from others to lead by example.  Life-long learning is also an essential leadership skill because knowledge gives you the power to understand better how to lead effectively. Knowing the value of being a follower is crucial to leadership because it demonstrates that you are not afraid to yield control to others when appropriate. She currently holds leadership positions in a variety of organizations including Patient Care VP elect for APhA, Community Service Co-chair for Phi Delta Chi, Activities Coordinator for Class of 2024. She hopes to inspire others to reach their personal and professional goals.

Gbadebo, Olatunji.jpg

Olatunji Gbadebo

Ola believes that a leader is someone flexible and able to work well with others. He believes that the greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things, but the one that gets the people to do the greatest things. Using this principle, he wants to encourage new leadership from students and help them find their professional identity. He is currently holding various leadership positions such as Student Ambassador at Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP), the Class of 2024 Vice President for DKICP, Vice President for the National Community Pharmacist Association (NCPA), Overall Chair for DKICP’s 14th Annual Health Fair, Historian and Webmaster for the Hawaii Student Society of Health-Systems Pharmacy and Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (HSSHP & AMCP), and Pledge Chair for Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc.
