Bio, Kateleen Caye.jpg

Kateleen Caye Bio

Kateleen aspires to be a leader as best defined by Simon Sinek’s quote: “The role of a leader is not to come up with all the great ideas. The role of a leader is to create an environment in which great ideas can happen.” She believes that leadership doesn’t mean knowing all the right answers whenever an obstacle arises, but rather the ability to create a safe space that empowers individuals to confidently express their own ideas. Kateleen currently serves in several leadership positions such as the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP) Student Ambassador, the Community Outreach Co-Chair for DKICP’s 12th Annual Health Fair as well as the Worthy Keeper of Records & Seals and Interfraternal Chair for the Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity. Through Phi Lambda Sigma, she hopes to help nurture the competencies and confidence of fellow students to become future innovative leaders themselves.

Niimi, Kalen (1).jpg

Kalen Niimi

Kalen believes that leaders should serve as role models and play more of a facilitative role – seeing to the needs of each team member and empowering them to become the best version of themselves. Leaders foster an environment for individuals to shine with the same end goal in mind. Through Phi Lambda Sigma, his goal is to motivate and inspire students to become leaders of their own. He hopes to learn from the future leaders in the pharmacy profession to become an asset to the health care team. Kalen currently serves as Chapter President of the Industry Pharmacists Organization (IPhO) and Treasurer and Quiz Bowl Committee Chair of the Rho Chi Academic Honor Society. He is also an active member of the American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), volunteering for KTA COVID-19 testing and mass vaccination clinics.

Sakai, Brayton.jpg

Brayton Sakai

Brayton believes that leadership is best defined as being innovative. Being a leader entails finding ways to help guide those around them to become better people and helping them on a path of success. He aspires to accomplish this goal by connecting with each member within the organizations he is in, as well as with all students at the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy. The positions Brayton currently holds on campus are President-Elect for the National Community Pharmacists Association, Historian for the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy’s 12th Annual Health Fair, and Chaplain for Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.

Inouye College of Pharmacy, Historian for the Industry Pharmacists Organization, and Fundraising Co-Chair for the Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity.

Cardoza, Chrystal headshot.jpg

Chrystal Cardoza

Chrystal believes that leadership is defined by sincere actions not by titles. Anyone can be a leader, as it is a channel that allows us to continuously grow and give our best contributions in humble service. She aspires to be the kind of leader that is able to make a transformational difference and help others realize their full potential in the same way many of her mentors have done for her. Chrystal currently serves as the research chair for the Pacific Islander Mobile Screening Clinic (PIMSC), the Worthy Alumni Liaison for Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity (PDC), and the secretary for Rho Chi Academic Honor Society.

Oshitari, Daijiro.jpg

Daijiro Oshitari

Daijiro believes that leadership means a lot of things; it means helping to lead people to success by guiding them to their goals, putting yourself before others, and deciding on a solution after listening to others. Over the years of Daijiro's life, he has learned that leadership is not a position, but an action of leading or guiding individuals to reach a common goal.  Moreover, as Martin Luther King Jr., once said, “A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus, but a molder of consensus”, this quote succinctly elaborates what Daijiro has learned about what ‘leadership’ means. Daijiro currently serves and served as the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP) Student Ambassador, Chaplain and Community Service Committee Chair for Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Health Screenings Co-Chair for the DKICP 12th Annual Health Fair, and as the Fundraising Co-Chair for the Hawaii Student Society of Health-Systems Pharmacy and Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (HSSHP & AMCP).

Soranaka, Alyson.png

Alyson Soranaka

Alyson’s leadership style is based on a quote her mentor once shared with her, “to lead is to serve”. A leader is always helping others find their inspirations and passions. As a leader you need to understand and work for the people around you. Alyson is continuously growing and learning to better herself personally and professionally. She would like to help encourage others to find their passion and strengths to guide them in becoming successful leaders. She is currently holding various leadership positions such as the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy 13th Annual Overall Chair, Operation Heart Co-Chair for the American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), and Community Outreach Co-Chair for the Hawaii Student Society of Health-Systems Pharmacy and Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (HSSHP & AMCP).

Alice currently serves as the President-Elect for the American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), the Fundraising Co-Chair for Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity, and the Historian for the Daniel K.
